He Chose Us

20110624-030527.jpg

Eph. 4:4–even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love…

It hit me the other day…

He chose me

Why me?

I do not know why God would have chosen me to be his son. What did I ever do? He saved me unto salvation! There are over 6 billion people on this earth and I was chosen. We should look at it in 2 ways. We should be proud to be in the family of God just like you are proud to be a citizen of the U.S.A. But we should also be humbled because it was nothing that we did that allowed us to be apart of the “household of God.”

The thing that is hard to grasp is that he did not choose everyone. Christ is inclusive to ALL who believe… But you must believe to receive salvation. It is often hard to “comprehend” (Eph. 3:18) all that God is and why he does what he does. But God is just and he sent his Son Jesus Christ to give everyone salvation if only they believe. G.O.S.P.E.L

Consider yourself honored to be chosen by God but also be humbled because we are nothing that do nothing to receive this honor!

Update

How is everyone doing? Schools is over and I just got engaged!! Can life get any better?? Well I hope so but what I wanted to know is how to keep in touch with everybody and if we want to keep blogging on this site or not??

What does everybody think?

Do you want to keep a commitment to help each other stay accountable in order to help us stay in the word?

Arise, O God, Defend Your Cause

April 8, 1966, cover of Time magazine

What Do You Think?

If you are like me, you read DrudgeReport or FoxNews or (heaven forbid) ABC News and you get depressed. The world is falling apart and Christians are often blamed for it. Maintaining a Christian worldview while living in a world that views God as dead(Friedrich Nietzsche). Nietzsche popularized his atheistic theory that God only exists in your mind and therefore you become the killer of God when you stop believing in the ” fairytale of religion.” People today have seemingly attempted to take control of their own lives by living for themselves and in turn hunt down those who live for something or someone else. We want to cry out to God to stop letting the world win! I say to God defend your cause. Prove yourself! But that is not my place, God will decide in His timing.

More in number than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause; mighty are those who would destroy me, those who attack me with lies. Ps. 69:4

A world pervaded by sin has never been easy to live in and will never be, till Christ comes back. However, the Gospel changes everything! The gospel of Jesus Christ allows us to uphold a Biblical Worldview with confidence, no matter what Satan, the media, or fellow Christians throw at us; we can handle due to the power of the Holy Spirit. God has taught me through my study in the Psalms to TRUST in Him. Take a quick look at what David continuously said as he penned out his TRUST in God:  Psalms 55-75

How awesome are your deeds

In the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy

With God we shall do valiantly; it is he who will tread down our foes.

Lead me to the rock that is higher than I

For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy

He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken

Your steadfast love is better than life

Has not let our feet slip

He has not rejected my prayer

Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation

You have given the command to save me

You are my rock and my fortress

You see God is in control even when it does not look like it!

Back to the news, I recently saw the 20/20 episode on IFB churches and the horrible sins of rape committed in some churches around the country. These sins were terrible and the way some of them were handled in the churches may have not been ideal. However, the media painted a slanted bias against the church. This is all to be expected. The church (no matter what Christian denomination) is FULL of sinners who are led by sinners, but saved by grace. Sin will occur and yet we must not act like we are above any sin by condemning the mistakes of others and quickly acting to judge others for mistakes made or sins committed. We are not “holier than thou” in any situation and we must pray that God spares us from our own “debased mind” and continues to  preserve us from similar heinous sins until he comes again.

Do not become the very thing you are trying to stop. When we condemn others and rashly judge others, we become critical of denominations and people rather than the sin displayed by them. We hate hypocritical attitudes and externalism stemming from fundamentalism so we judge them over Facebook and condemn mistakes made by them through our sharp tongues? No! We love just as Christ loves. We do not let the media or denominations re-write or distort the gospel. We can only pronounce God as he truly is in the Bible and let God take his vengeance in his timing on those who twist His truth.

Embracing Accusation

You hear him say. You can’t do it, you are cursed and gone astray. You cannot gain salvation. You are wallowing in your own despair. The penalty for your sin is death and so death is yours. The devil is preaching and he is right! He is right. You are a failure. Your hopeless. You are discouraged and you cannot gain salvation. “The devils singing over me an age old song that I am cursed and gone astray singing the first verse so conveniently but he has forgotten the refrain: JESUS SAVES! (Shane&Shane)

Do you ever feel like all you do is embrace accusation?

You are constantly being beaten down by the devil by giving into your flesh?

You are slandered by other Christians and are accused and all you can do is embrace the accusation and hope the misunderstanding blows over.

Do not get discouraged! There is hope in Jesus Christ!

Psalm 62:6,7
He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God
